Grutas e Centro do Vulcanismo
Start underground — the volcanic caves beneath São Vicente were formed from lava tubes millions of years ago. An hour-long guided tour puts the whole island's geology in perspective.

Levada walk to Rosário
A gentle 90-minute levada along the valley wall gives you the full mountain-meets-coast panorama. The path is almost flat and runs through pine forest and terraced gardens.

Drive five minutes to the seafront and watch the Atlantic come in on the rocks. The north coast gets weather the south doesn't see — dramatic skies, real waves, no crowds.
