Natural lava pools
Arrive early before the day-trippers. The pools are at their clearest and calmest in the morning — pick between the two complexes, both charge a small entry fee and have changing rooms.
Seafood at the village
Grilled limpets (lapas) and fresh fish at one of the restaurants lining the harbour. Octopus, wreckfish, espada — whatever came off the boats that morning.
North coast drive back
Take the old EN101 coastal road back east — tunnels alternate with stretches of exposed cliff where the sea crashes below the road. Stop at Seixal's black sand beach on the way.
