Pico do Arieiro Sunrise, Stairway to Heaven & Larano

Experience one of Madeira’s most iconic days, starting with sunrise at Pico do Arieiro, followed by a dramatic coastal hike along the Larano trail.

You’ll be picked up early and driven to Pico do Arieiro to witness sunrise above the clouds (weather permitting). After sunrise, you may optionally walk part of the famous Stairway to Heaven (PR1 – 1.2 km). If you prefer, you can relax near the van and enjoy the mountain scenery.

The day continues with a stop at the Guindaste Glass Viewpoint, before heading to the Larano Trail, a stunning coastal hike carved into cliffs overlooking the Atlantic. This self-guided walk offers constant sea views and a peaceful connection with Madeira’s raw landscape.

A balanced full-day experience combining mountains, coastline, and freedom to walk at your own pace.
