Description

Explore Madeira’s mountains on an open-top 4x4 tour, combining iconic viewpoints and local culture in just half a day.

Start at Pico dos Barcelos for panoramic views over Funchal and the coastline, then head into the dramatic bowl-shaped valley of Curral das Freiras (Nun’s Valley), surrounded by steep peaks and full of local stories.

From there, climb up to Pico do Arieiro (1,818m), Madeira’s third-highest peak, where you can enjoy wide, 360º views across the island (weather permitting). Finish in Camacha, known for its traditional wickerwork, before returning to Funchal.

A great choice if you want mountain scenery, viewpoints, and authentic Madeira — without spending a full day.
