Explore the east side of Madeira on a guided full-day tour, combining mountain viewpoints, Laurisilva scenery, local culture, and a rum tasting.
Start at Pico do Arieiro (1818m) for dramatic high-altitude views. Then head to Ribeiro Frio, where you can choose the optional Levada dos Balcões walk to one of Madeira’s best viewpoints, or enjoy free time by the trout ponds surrounded by forest.
Continue to Santana to see the island’s famous traditional houses and enjoy a relaxed lunch stop. Afterward, stop at the Guindaste viewpoint for panoramic views over the northeast coast, then visit Porto da Cruz for a rum tasting at a local distillery.
Finish the day with a final viewpoint stop in the São Lourenço / Ponta do Rosto area, with wide views over both coasts.
