East Jeep Tour

Explore East Madeira on a 4x4 jeep tour, visiting Pico do Areeiro, Ribeiro Frio (Balcões), Santana and Ponta de São Lourenço.

This full-day small-group tour combines mountain peaks, laurel forest, off-road tracks and traditional villages. Start high above the clouds at Pico do Areeiro, then head into the green valleys of Ribeiro Frio, where you can choose to do the short Balcões levada walk (optional).

Continue through scenic off-road sections towards Santana, famous for its triangular thatched houses and local culture, with time for lunch. Later, enjoy coastal viewpoints like Guindaste, visit Porto da Cruz for a rum tasting, and finish with dramatic cliff views at Ponta do Rosto / Ponta de São Lourenço before returning to Funchal.
