We look for dolphins, pilot whales and turtles, with a seasonal swim stop near Cabo Girão. If no cetaceans are spotted, you're invited back for a free second trip — fair on us. Sightings depend on the animals; the swim depends on the sea. Check in 30 minutes before departure. Not suitable for wheelchair users.","short_description":"Catamaran dolphin and whale watching tour from Funchal, with Cabo Girão swim stop and free second trip if no cetaceans are spotted.","duration":"3 Hours","price_cents":4000,"max_guests":20,"difficulty":"easy","featured":false,"active":true,"cover_url":"https://images.beyondmadeira.com/tours/gallery/dolphin-whale-watching-catamaran/madeira-whale-dolphin-watching-catamaran-vmt-05-1600.webp","gallery":["https://images.beyondmadeira.com/tours/gallery/dolphin-whale-watching-catamaran/madeira-whale-dolphin-watching-catamaran-vmt-05-1600.webp","https://images.beyondmadeira.com/tours/gallery/dolphin-whale-watching-catamaran/madeira-whale-dolphin-watching-catamaran-vmt-06-1600.webp","https://images.beyondmadeira.com/tours/gallery/dolphin-whale-watching-catamaran/madeira-whale-dolphin-watching-catamaran-vmt-09-1600.webp","https://images.beyondmadeira.com/tours/gallery/dolphin-whale-watching-catamaran/madeira-whale-dolphin-watching-catamaran-vmt-07-1600.webp","https://images.beyondmadeira.com/tours/gallery/dolphin-whale-watching-catamaran/madeira-whale-dolphin-watching-catamaran-vmt-02-1600.webp","https://images.beyondmadeira.com/tours/gallery/dolphin-whale-watching-catamaran/madeira-whale-dolphin-watching-catamaran-vmt-03-1600.webp","https://images.beyondmadeira.com/tours/gallery/dolphin-whale-watching-catamaran/madeira-whale-dolphin-watching-catamaran-vmt-04-1600.webp","https://images.beyondmadeira.com/tours/gallery/dolphin-whale-watching-catamaran/madeira-whale-dolphin-watching-catamaran-vmt-08-1600.webp"],"includes":["Catamaran cruise","Professional crew","Live commentary","Free second tour if no cetaceans are spotted"],"created_at":"2026-04-07T01:32:50.209041+00:00","pickup_type":"meeting_point","pickup_zones":null,"pickup_partner":null,"meeting_point_address":"This activity has no pickup or drop-off.\n\nMeeting point is Funchal Marina.\n\nAfter your booking is confirmed, we’ll send you the exact location pin and check-in details.","excludes":["Food and drinks (available for purchase onboard)","Hotel pickup and drop-off"],"what_to_bring":["Comfortable shoes","Windbreaker","Swimwear and towel (summer months)","Sunscreen","Rain gear"],"highlights":["Sightings guaranteed — free second trip if no cetaceans are seen","Family Pack: 2 adults + up to 4 children for €100","Comfortable catamaran with sun nets and seating","Live commentary by an experienced crew","Babies up to 4 years travel free","3-hour cruise departing from Funchal"],"languages":null,"tour_type":"small_group","badge_info":"Catamaran · Whale watching · 3 hours","age_requirement":"All Ages","before_you_go":"[\"Check-in required 30 minutes before departure.\",\"Sightings guaranteed — if no cetaceans are seen, we offer a second trip free of charge.\",\"Departures every day: 10:30–13:30 and/or 15:00–18:00.\",\"Prices: Adults (12+) €40 · Children (up to 12) €20 · Babies (up to 4) free.\",\"Family Pack — 2 adults + up to 4 children: €100.\",\"Swimming stop depends on sea and weather conditions.\",\"Tour may be cancelled due to weather or minimum passenger requirements.\",\"Snorkeling gear is limited and can sell out — please request it in advance (a refundable deposit up to €20 may apply, returned when the gear is handed back).\"]","bokun_id":null,"category":"boat","min_pax":null,"max_pax":20,"distance_km":null,"walking_time_hours":null,"altitude_max_m":null,"altitude_min_m":null,"difficulty_level":null,"start_point":"Funchal Marina","end_point":"Funchal Marina","trail_type":null,"itinerary":[{"time":null,"title":"Departure from Funchal Marina","description":"Set sail from Funchal Marina on a catamaran cruise along Madeira's south coast."},{"time":null,"title":"Dolphin & whale watching","description":"Cruise along the south coast in search of dolphins, whales, and other marine life with live commentary from the crew."},{"time":null,"title":"Cabo Girão swim stop","description":"Seasonal refreshing swim stop beneath the dramatic cliffs of Cabo Girão, one of Europe's highest sea cliffs."}],"route_alert":"If no dolphins or whales are spotted, a complimentary second tour is offered.
